Supply Chain
Promise dates you can keep — checked against stock, capacity, and transit first.
The most expensive sentence in business is a delivery date that cannot be kept. It burns trust, triggers expediting costs, and poisons the next negotiation. Supply Chain moves the check to before the promise: stock balances, production capacity, and carrier transit verify first, and the customer hears a date the network has already proven feasible.
Why honest promising wins
A sales rep promises delivery in two weeks. In most ERPs that promise is a hope typed into a quote — inventory, capacity, and transit get checked later, if at all, and the customer hears a date that cannot be kept. XRP checks before the promise is made: stock balances, reservations, planned supply, production lead time, and carrier transit resolve into a committable date or the named gap preventing one. A supplier confirms a ship date and planning adjusts the same hour. Receiving updates inventory and payables together. Landed cost allocates duties, freight, and insurance across receipts so valuation reflects what was actually paid. Every move carries source evidence, operator identity, and lineage into the ledger finance values.

How Supply Chain works
Sales requests carry item, quantity, and requested date into ATP, which resolves live stock, reservations, planned supply, production feasibility, and transit into one verdict: commit, offer the earliest feasible alternative, or escalate the constraint. Accepted promises reserve the same stock truth warehouse execution consumes. Receipts validate against purchase orders, assign bins, and post inventory with landed cost; picks follow engineered paths with lot and serial capture; shipments close with carrier proof of tender, movement, and delivery.

Supply Chain in daily operation
Each surface below consumes the same stock truth — connectors propose, EDI declares intent, and the warehouse executes against reservations.

section: applications
E-commerce Connectors
Shopify, Amazon, and BigCommerce orders flow into ATP with channel terms attached. Listings sync from the same items the warehouse picks, so the storefront can never sell what the bins cannot prove.
EDI Gateway
X12 and EDIFACT ingest with control-number reservation, signed acknowledgments, and partner profile versioning. EDI transactions are evidence — they update canonical state only after acceptance.
Mobile WMS
Receiving, putaway, cycle count, pick, pack, and ship run on handheld flows with barcode validation at every scan. Offline-capable operation queues moves with evidence for sync instead of stopping the floor.
3PL and FBA
Third-party and FBA inventory tracked with the same lot and serial rigor as own warehouses. Inbound shipments, storage, and outbound fulfillment reconcile against partner statements automatically.
Landed Cost
Duties, freight, insurance, and handling allocate across receipts during receiving. Valuation reflects landed reality per lot, and margin reports read the same numbers finance books.
Deployment and integration
Supply Chain runs in every XRP topology with mobile barcode flows on the floor and signed offline bundles where connectivity drops. Carrier integrations (UPS, FedEx, 3PL) and EDI document exchange run through versioned, evidence-bound connectors. Shopify, Amazon, and BigCommerce storefronts promise against the same ATP surface as direct sales — one network, every channel.

Governance and compliance
Ownership boundaries are enforced, not documented: Part 10 owns physical stock and warehouse execution, Finance owns valuation and posting policy, and this module never maintains a competing balance. Lot genealogy supports recall and traceability (GS1, UDI, EPCIS); trade compliance validates denied-party and jurisdiction rules before shipment commits.

Supply Chain questions
Section 1
Who owns stock truth?
Part 10 owns physical stock, reservations, and warehouse execution. Supply Chain consumes that truth for promising and planning and never maintains a competing balance.
Section 2
How do supplier delays propagate?
Confirmed ship-date changes replan affected supply, revalidate customer promises, and surface the cascading impact through BOM, production, and commitments in one query.
Section 3
What does the customer hear when stock is short?
The earliest feasible date with the constraint named — stock, capacity, or transit — so sales negotiates from facts instead of guessing and hoping.
Section 4
Can the warehouse keep running during cycle counts?
Yes. Cycle counting runs against live bins with snapshot isolation; picks and puts continue around counted locations without freezing operations.
Section 5
How is landed cost actually calculated?
Duties, freight, and insurance allocate across the receipts of a shipment at receiving time, so inventory valuation reflects what was paid rather than invoice price alone.
Section 6
Our EDI setup took years to stabilize. Do we rip it out?
No. Partner profiles version into the gateway with control numbers and acknowledgments preserved. EDI keeps flowing while the canonical truth behind it gets stronger.
Section 7
Can we trust a 3PL with our inventory truth?
You don't have to trust — you verify. 3PL stock, moves, and shipments reconcile against partner statements automatically, with discrepancies flagged per transaction.
