Sensor-to-Shooter and Sensor-to-Effect Mission Chain
How it works
The chain is a typed, branching mission graph rather than a hardcoded conveyor. Every stage records its evidence, coverage, uncertainty, owner, authority, timing, alternatives and result strength. Sensor admission, track identity, target development, clearance, weapon or effector assignment, ACT-008 handoff, owner readback, abort control, execution reporting, independent observation, battle-damage assessment and retasking remain connected without becoming one automatic decision.
Open the chain from a mission need or detection, inspect the evidence and alternatives at each transition, obtain accountable authorization, hand the qualified request to the certified execution owner, supervise readback and abort conditions, then compare intended and observed effects before closure or adaptation.
Command teams can compress decision time while preserving the exact point where evidence, authority, platform readiness, communications or effect confidence fails.
Operational contract
- InputsNeeds, alternatives and intended effects, Exact authority and owner contracts, Owner receipts and independent observations
- OutputsGoverned proposals and handoff receipts, Control and ambiguity records, Effect-assurance and mitigation evidence
- BoundaryLugh-E never turns detection into engagement authority, never selects or fires a weapon autonomously, and never replaces certified fire-control, weapon-control, platform-control or rules-of-engagement owners.
Decision, degraded state and recovery
- Operational decisionDecide whether the chain may advance, hold, branch, return to collection, abort or terminate at each evidence and authority gate.
- Degraded or disputed stateAmbiguous identity, stale track quality, missing clearance, unavailable shooter, degraded communications, owner rejection or unverified effect stops the relevant transition instead of being averaged into readiness.
- Recovery and closureCorrection or new observation reopens the affected graph region, preserves the earlier decision-time cut and routes reacquisition, reassessment or follow-on work through its accountable owner.
- Authority boundaryLugh-E never turns detection into engagement authority, never selects or fires a weapon autonomously, and never replaces certified fire-control, weapon-control, platform-control or rules-of-engagement owners.
Current authority cannot rescue stale targeting evidence
The responsible human has approved the proposal, but the track changes before the execution owner accepts it. Lugh-E holds the affected mission-graph transition, shows which evidence must return and keeps the original request available for inquiry. Reacquisition or a revised proposal follows the accountable decision path.
